Frequently Asked Questions

When was Logos Fund established?

Logos Fund was established by Hans van der Burg in October 2015. The Fund’s track record can be found in the document “Historische prestaties & prestatiescenario’s Logos Fund” via the Documentation section of the Logos Investment Management website.

What is Logos Fund’s investment philosophy and strategy?

The investment philosophy of Logos Fund revolves around three concepts: being fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful; trying to manage risk rather than avoid it; and knowing where to play. Logos Fund aims to invest where the discrepancy between price and value is largest and where the risk-reward profile is most attractive.

This results in two specific investment strategies: a Fundamental long/short strategy, in which Logos searches for companies that appear to be under- or overvalued based on fundamental metrics; and Special Situations, in which Logos allocates capital to special situations that typically arise from corporate actions such as mergers, acquisitions, share buybacks and spin-offs.

What is the recommended investment horizon?

Logos Fund is intended for investors with a long-term investment horizon. The fund’s philosophy is based on the view that prices can deviate from fundamental value, particularly when market sentiment is very positive or negative, and that a long-term perspective is important in benefiting from such price-value discrepancies.

What returns has Logos Fund achieved historically?

Historical performance information for Logos Fund is available in the fund documentation, including the document on historical performance and performance scenarios. Please note that past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results, and that the value of an investment may go down as well as up.
